Good Faith Estimate
Your right to know the expected cost of your care, under the No Surprises Act.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must give clients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy.
What this means for you
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of therapy, including session fees and any related costs
- You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill
- Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate
At Billy Hale Therapy, sessions are $175 and the 15-minute consultation is free. You’ll receive a written Good Faith Estimate before beginning treatment, and you can request one at any time by calling (619) 535-9371 or emailing billyhaletherapy@gmail.com.
